Grandma and Grandpa Have Arrived

After many months of planning, the time has finally arrived. The house has been cleaned, the plane flights organized, and the lawn mowed and tidied. Grandma and Grandpa arrived yesterday, Thursday March 4th. Turill and I flew down to Brisbane on the midnight flight to surprise my Mom and Dad at the airport. I don't think surprised is a big enough word to describe their reaction. Yesterday afternoon the four of us, Carolyn, Larry, Jenn and Turill flew back to Darwin where Butch, Hayden and Yarra were patiently waiting. Next came the three hour drive home. So after one of the longest days of Grandma and Grandpa's lives we arrived to our home, Sturt Downs. We grabbed a bite to eat and a much needed shower before heading off to bed. This morning brought a big sleep in, a trip to Bend Camp for Butch, Larry, Hayden and all the dogs. Meat pies were on the menu for lunch complimented with fresh watermelon. After a quick dip in the pool, Grandma, Hayden, Yarra and Turill headed off for a nap. This afternoon has brought a quick photo session, playing in the dirt with Hayden's dump truck and preparations for the big party tonight. We are going to catch up for missed birthday's, Christmas' and anniversaries.
So needless to say we are all excited to have Grandma and Grandpa experience life on our side of the world. We are looking to make the next two and a half weeks jammed packed! Stay posted for updates from our adventures.
