Cattle Work

Over the past couple of weeks we have been trapping cattle in an effort to sort, count, brand, and dehorn them. We have been sorting off older steers that will be ready for market in the coming months. We are also drafting off the heifers that are old enough to be moved out with the main herd. With the younger weaners, yearlings, we are ensuring that they are all branded and dehorned and are placed in the correct paddock. Below are a few pictures of our handy work!
Butch and the dogs pushing the cattle through the yards.

Hayden and Yarra finding something to keep them occupied while the adults work.
Also the cattle waiting to be run through the chute in the background.

Butch branding a younger beast.

Taylor working the back pens.
Cutting off a steer that is large enough to go to market.
