Hayden has become very fond of dogs lately. When we arrived here at Sturt Downs there was a cute long-haired Chihuahua, named Flea that already resided here. We have become very fond of her as she goes about everywhere with us. Yarra first took to the fat little dog. She would sneak her food off her plate while we were eating and always made sure that Flea was ready to go when we were headed anywhere. But as of late, Hayden is the one that has found his passion for our four legged friends. We have been given the opportunity to use a good Blue Healer dog for working cattle. A friend did not have work for the dog at the moment, so we have recruited her expertise. Her name is China and is very helpful with working cattle. She is also a great guard dog. We had been noticing Dingo tracks closer and closer to the house, so she helps keep them at bay. As you can see in the picture above, Hayden loves the dogs. He helps with bathing then, has volunteered to feed them each night, and generally looks out for them. I think I can see a canine companion in his future, maybe in a couple of years!

This is the lovely little Flea with a friend she found while we were out fixing a water pump for the cattle. I don't know that the lizard is real excited about their friendship.
